We organise professional English language theatre performances. These preformances are produced by the American Drama Group Europe (ADGE) based in Munic, Germany and performed by the British theatre companies TNT THEATRE BRITAIN and TOUR DE FORCE THEATRE COMPANY.
ADGE was established by Mr. Grantly Marshall in 1978 in Munic, Germany and currently performs in more than 25 countries worldwide. It was linked in the beginning to the University of Munic where the first performances were held. It expanded quickly to other theatres in Munic and also began to give guest performances in other German cities. The expansion was continued to include many countries in Europe ans Asia.
The repertoire consists of British and American classical and modern dramas. British director Paul Stebbings, who studied theatre in Kraków in the 1980s, applies the Grotowski technique and emphasises movement and musical components in his performances.
The goal of the American Drama Group Europe as a foreign language theatre organisation is to perform in as many countries in the world as possible.
In the Czech Republic, we have been organising these shows since 1997. We started in Prague and due to success we currently perform also in 5 big towns across the country. In 2004 we started to perform in Bratislava, Slovakia, in December 2005 in Wroclaw and Krakow and in October 2007 in Warszawa, Poland. During 12 years of performing in Central Europe, more than 215,000 audiences have seen the shows.
All shows are open to the public. Because the adult people in Central European countries are not yet proficient in English, the majority of our audience consist of secondary school students and we perform mainly in the mornings.
